I couldn't believe when I saw it that it would hold me, it is so lightweight. But hold me it did and it is just the perfect shape for total relaxation. I use it in our hot pool at night and float away into dreamland. I could see how it would be nice during a hot day also, to keep you cool. We bought two of them right after we went boating with some friends who had them. They are very lightweight, with a springy frame that folds (or twists) to reduce the float to approximately 1/3 of its unfolded size--small enough to stow in a medium-sized boat hatch, or flat enough to tuck under the lowest deck. (You can't see the frame, but I suspect it is made of 1/4" thick fiberglass rod, just like a tent pole, but springy enough that it can be twisted to turn into three smaller coils instead of one large oval.)To ready it for use, you simply unfold (untwist) the frame and it springs back to its full-sized oval shape. Then you blow about 6 - 8 breaths into the perimeter-length flotation tube, and about 12 - 14 breaths into the pillow portion. I returned it because it doesn't do this - the mesh is too taught & so you're floating above the water, not in it. I bought the papasan float instead, which allows you to sit immersed in the water & float around the pool. |
